Messages from members of our team

“I joined Citrine International shortly after graduating from university with a BSC Accounting and Finance degree. While completing my career at university, I gained a genuine interest in the taxation sector and wanted to increase my knowledge in the field. Citrine International gave me the right opportunity to do so by providing employee development through valuable training and resources.

I was also attracted by the opportunity for career progression that the company offers as well as the ability to work in a stable, welcoming and highly professional environment. Furthermore, as a native French speaker, I was interested in the fact that the company is extending and developing its platform in France.

From day one, I have been fortunate to have been surrounded by very supportive and professional individuals whom are generous in sharing their knowledge and experience.

Working with Citrine International has allowed me to strengthen and develop numerous skills as well as to gain experience and in-depth knowledge in both UK and US taxation. Not to mention that it provides a very encouraging platform where talent and hard work are always recognised and appreciated, which I personally find very rewarding and necessary.” Maeva

“I joined Citrine International after having spent a year at HMRC. I was looking to expand my tax knowledge and take a more holistic approach to taxation than the limited aspect-based approach of my previous work. Expatriate taxation allows me to gain exposure to a broad and challenging area of tax that I hadn’t experienced before, while the varied backgrounds and needs of our clients mean that the work can change a lot between clients and keep me on my toes. In addition to compliance work in preparing clients’ tax returns, I have participated in several pieces of consultancy work, allowing me a chance to research and produce longer projects in areas of taxation that I would not otherwise experience. Dealing with clients’ tax-related needs directly has created a sense of investment in and meaning arising from my work that would not be found in a larger, more anonymous organisation.

I have started to work towards becoming an Enrolled Agent, qualified with the US’ Internal Revenue Service, but I feel the more valuable aspect of my personal development while here has been the balance of respect and trust in my ability to learn and produce good work with support from my colleagues. This has allowed me to push my boundaries and develop confidence in dealing with all aspects of the business in a way that feels that I am making a solid contribution, while feeling confident that there is support that reflects my level of experience.” Paul
